As of January 1, Walgreen’s and Anthem Blue Cross have not renegotiated their
contract. Members must now utilize another pharmacy, or try the mail order
program through Express Scripts. Many members have told us this is an easy
process, and some have even been offered discounts on their first order. To

Anthem states that they chose to end their relationship with Walgreens because their
prices were higher, and in an effort to keep the increased cost from affecting
consumers (by means of higher premiums) the contract was not agreed to.
However, there are still many pharmacies within the network so you should be
able to have your medications transferred easily.
